Change the way you sleep:
Sleeping position also influences snoring. Change sleeping position, sleeping on your side may help prevent snoring. A full length pillow may help support your side sleeping. Keep a pillow on the other side this will help prevent turning to other side.
Think Weight loss:
If you are overweight or obese losing weight can help you overcome snoring, but some thin people also snore, if you are thin and snore. Weight loss is not for you.
Stay away from alcohol:
Research says that people who don’t normally snore will snore when they are drunk. This is because alcohol reduces the resting tone of muscles in the back of your throat, making it more likely to snore. Consuming alcohol 4-5 hours before sleeping makes snoring worse.
Bad sleep timings:
Sleep patterns influences snoring as much as consuming alcohol or sedatives. Working long hours without enough sleep makes you over tired causing snoring. Always try to get good 8 hours of sleep.
If your snoring is due to clogging of nasal passage, a hot shower before bed can help minimize the problem. Clean your nasal passage with hot salt water to unclog it.
When was the last time you dust your ceiling fan, washed pillow covers, vacuum pillows? Dust and other allergens also cause snoring. Don’t allow you pets to enter your bedroom, if it is not possible keep things clean before you sleep.
Drinking good amount of fluids help make the secretions in your nasal passage less sticky, there by unclogging it.
